GROW GROUPS

weekly bible study

tuesday |  10:30am

Older Adults: You are invited to join our weekly Bible study. We meet in the church Fellowship Hall, and you can enter at the main entryway. WEMO’s church staff rotates the leadership of this special time with WEMO Upperclassmen.

Our Upperclassmen Ministry is led by Darryl & Audrey Miller.

Our Purpose

Our Men’s Ministry brings guys together for the purpose of discipleship. Our men participate & lead WEMO Discipleship groups, work to keep our building running and secure, or serve our community on mission.

Our men participate in The Man Church started by evangelist and radio personality Rick Burgess. You are welcome to join our men to find friends and grow spiritually together.

Our Purpose

Women at WEMO desire for women to have a personal relationship with Christ and a spiritually vibrant relationship with other women.

Ministry Occurs through events and discipleship groups.

Want to join a women’s discipleship group? Email donna@wemochurch.org to get signed up.

Ready to Connect?

If you want to connect with someone to disciple you, meet with you, or help you grow in your faith, please get in touch. We can all use a new friend. Join us.

Prayer Room

Our prayer room is open. Prayer Volunteers are welcome to pray at any time–including during worship services or classes. The prayer room contains lists of prayer requests, Scripture, and copies of other prayer materials to help you pray. If someone is in the room, you can enter quietly and pray. The room also has lists of those who need salvation, lists of church leaders, and other information to help you pray.

Prayer Requests

Our connection cards have space for prayer requests. If these are not marked confidential, ongoing requests are placed in the prayer room. If you make a prayer request, please update it so prayer volunteers will have that information. You may update a request by making a new request on a connection card and noting that the previous request can be removed.

Join The Prayer Team

You can join the prayer team by noting it on a connection card. Intercessors can come to the prayer room at any time. If the room is occupied, and you don’t want to come in, feel free to find another empty room or church balcony to pray. There are occasional emails that go to intercessors.

Our regular church budget gives 10% of each dollar to missions causes both local and around the world. Every dollar you give, a portion of it goes to missions efforts. Locally here in Mobile and South Alabama, we financially support 10 different ministries.

Those who go on mission from WEMO Church are able to raise funds using facilities and home-base of our church.

Our denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention (sbc.net) is supported by a set percentage gift from our church each month (Cooperative Program). This undergirds support for the International Mission Board (imb.org), the North American Mission Board (namb.net), theological education, Mobile Baptist Association, and other ministries. Our sharing of support enables us to efficiently support many missions and ministry endeavors.

We celebrate Missions Month each February to focus attention on the call to go, give, pray, and support missions. All money given to the World Missions Offering is divided up and sent to missions entities listed on the graphic.

Our food pantry and clothes closet distribute food and clothing weekly and is wholly staffed by members of our church. They operate from the brick house and distribute via a drive up system in the hangar parking lot. Volunteers work from 8:30 until 11:00 and distribution occurs from 9:30 until 10:30 for those living in zip codes 36695 or 36608

Our church member volunteers staff and prepare food for WEMO Cafe each Thursday for lunch in the Hangar. Lead volunteers are Patricia Edwards and Nora Richburg. This is a “pay what you can” lunch.

Various outreach events and mini emphases occur throughout the year. Watch for ways that you can become involved.

Prayerwalking is a bi-annual initiative to pray every street within one mile of our church and other neighborhoods beyond that. The prayer is for people living in those areas that they will hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Members of our church are trained in Disaster Relief by our denomination and stand ready to be called up to serve in areas needing assistance.

Our annual Trunk or Treat Outreach/Car Nival event hosts over a thousand people on our church property to be served and ministered to by our church members.

Children at the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home are supported with occasional gifts of clothing, toys, and financial gifts.
